Business Chamber will promote interest of the town Mossel Bay

The business community of the town once again has a “joint voice” after the Afrikaanse Sakekamer terminated a few years ago. The newly founded Mossel Bay Business Chamber will promote the interests of the town making it more competitive. We need to make Mossel Bay more attractive to investors and to create an environment for entrepreneurs to create career opportunities.We need to bring economical changes by means of education and training.

Mr. Piere Venter said the CBD must be upgraded and the residential areas must also be upgraded and cleaned

The CBD must be upgraded and made more interesting with new and exciting projects, seeing the current situation is not acceptable. Residential areas must be cleaned and upgraded. The unplanned and ugly developments give the town a bad reputation according to the chairman of the Business Chamber, Mr. Pierre Venter said to the Burger.

The town showed a phenomenal growth over the past few years and secured its position as a holiday and a retirement destination. Drastic measures are needed to upgrade and develop the business sector. It is therefore crucial to find new ways to stimulate the local economy. Especially if one bears in mind that PetroSA according to speculations will not play such a vital role in future as at present.

Mossel Bay needs to be competitive, not only localy, but global as well.

Greater emphasis will have to be placed on small businesses and industries to stimulate economic growth. A pre requisite for such a developments project is that the town and the local community must be competitive. To be competitive requires physical, intellectual and cultural assists of people with talents, skills and creativity. Mr. Pierre Venter believes that the town needs not only to be locally competitive. We need to be globally competitive with all the tourism coming from abroad. Services need to be excellent, facilities of world class standards and Mossel Bay needs to make visitors excited.

Soccer World Cup  2010 an opportunity not to be missed. Mossel bay must grab the oppertunity

According to Mr. Venter we have all it takes, we just need to develop and utilize it. How does one stay unique and stay on the fore front of opportunities? How does one utilize all the opportunities? Pierre believes that the Soccer World Cup 2010 will be such an opportunity and that Mossel Bay can not afford not to benefit by it and thus grab the opportunity.

We are very excited that Mossel Bay will be the host for the team and supporters of Paraguay. The Mossel Bay Business Chamber has organized an informative session at their next meeting. Mossel Bay’s representatives Mr. Louis Harris and Ms. Marcia Holm will address the meeting after their visit to America and to inform the members of the benefits of the tournament for Mossel Bay.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 13 October at 18:00 at Santos Express (Train Restaurant) and the cost will be R30 for members and R50 for non members. Refreshments and a cash bar will be available. The Mossel Bay Business Chamber would like to get all the business of the greater Mosel Bay area to get together to ensure that the town can offer competitive benefits.

Mr Pierre Venter said that it is time to stand to stand together and share ideas and expertise to have our facilities of world class standards.

Mosselbaai het onlangs ‘n Besigheidskamer gekry. Na afloop van ‘n inligtingsvergadering waar belangstellendes onder meer deur ‘n verteenwoordiger van PetroSA oor die voorgestelde LNG (beoogde aflaai-aanleg vir vloeibare aardgas) ingelig is, het die gaste lekker saamgekuier en die voordele van die Kamer bespreek.

Nuut gestigte Mossel Baai Besigheidskamer

MOSSELBAAI –Die sakelui van die dorp het weer ‘n organisasie wat met ‘n gesamentlike stem kan praat nadat die Afrikaanse Sakekamer ‘n paar jaar gelede ontbind het. Die nuutgestigte Mosselbaai Besigheidskamer beplan om die belange van die dorp se sakelui voorop te stel en om die dorp meer mededingend te maak.“Ons moet Mosselbaai aanlokliker maak vir beleggers en ‘n omgewing skep waar entrepreneurs aangemoedig word om werksgeleenthede te skep en te ontwikkel.

Mosselbaai se sakekern moet opgeknap word en woonbuurte moet opgeruim en skoon gemaak en  word

Ons moet ekonomiese verandering dryf deur onderwys en opleiding aan te moedig. Die Sakekern moet opgeknap en interessanter gemaak word met verbeeldingryk ontwikkelings, want die huidige toestand is totaal onaanvaarbaar. Woonbuurte moet opgeruim en skoongemaak word en daar moet meer orde in die dorp wees. Die onbeheerde en onooglike ontwikkelings is ‘n klad op ons naam”  het die voorsitter van die Besigheidskamer, Pierre Venter aan Die Burger gese.

Kleiner besighede en nywerhede moet groter rol speel om  Mosselbaai ekonomie te stimuleer

Die dorp het die afgelope paar jaar fenominaal gegroei en sy posisie as vakansie- en aftreebestemming gevestig. Daadwerklike stappe is egter nodig om die sake-sektor ook te laat ontwikkel. Daarom is dit so noodsaaklik dat daar  na ander  maniere gekyk moet word om die groei en ontwikkeling van die plaaslike ekonomie te stimuleer. Veral in die lig van die feit dat PetroSA, volgens alle aanduidings, nie onbepaald die groot rol gaan speel wat hy tans speel nie. Daar sal in ‘n baie groter mate na die kleiner besighede en nywerhede gekyk moet word om die groei te stimuleer.

Een van die voorvereistes om so ‘n ontwikkelingsprogram te dryf, is dat die dorp en die gemeenskap mededingend moet wees. Om mededingend te kan wees word die regte mengsel van fisiese, intellektuele en kulturele bates wat mense met vaardighede, talente en kreatiwiteit kan trek en behou, benodig.

Mosselbaai moet ‘n dorp wees wat mense opgewonde moet maak

Pierre glo dat die dorp nie net plaaslik mededingend moet wees nie. Met die toename in buitelandse toerisme, is dit noodsaaklik dat die dorp ook globaal kompeterend moet wees. Diens moet opgeskerp word, fasiliteite moet op wêreldklas standaarde gebring word en Mosselbaai moet ‘n dorp word wat mense opgewonde maak! “Ons het alles wat nodig is, ons moet dit net ontwikkel en benut” het hy bygevoeg.

Sokker Wêreldbeker van 2010 is ‘n geleentheid is en dat Mosselbaai moet dit ten volle benut

Maar hoe bly jy uniek en op die voorpunt van geleenthede? Hoe maak jy ten beste gebruik van elke geleentheid wat hom voordoen? Pierre glo dat die Sokker Wêreldbeker van 2010 so ‘n geleentheid is en dat Mosselbaai nie kan bekostig om hierdie geleentheid nie ten volle te benut nie.

Mosselbaai – gasheerdorp vir die Paraguay-span en hul ondersteuners

“Ons is baie opgewonde oor die nuus dat Mosselbaai die gasheerdorp van die Paraguay-span en hul ondersteuners gaan wees. Die Mosselbaai Besigheidskamer het ‘n inligtingsessies gereel om saam met hul volgende byeenkoms te val.

Louis Harris en Marcia Holm sal die Mosselbaai besigheidskamer inlig oor die geleenthede wat die Sokker Wêreldbeker vir die dorp inhou

Mosselbaai se 2010 verteenwoordiger, Louis Harris en Marcia Holm van Mosselbaai Toerisme, wat onlangs in Suid-Amerika was, sal die vergadering inlig oor die geleenthede wat die toernooi vir die dorp inhou. Die byeenkoms vind op Dinsdagaand 13 Oktober om 18:00 by die Santos Express (Trein Restaurant) plaas en die toegangsgeld is R30 vir lede en R50 vir nie-lede. Verversings en ‘n kontantkroeg sal aangebied word.

Mosselbaai Besigheidskamer wil graag die ondernemings van die groter Mosselbaai gebied saamtrek om te verseker dat die dorp wel oor mededingende voordele beskik. “Ons moet mekaar met raad en daad bystaan en saam sorg dat al ons dienste en fasiliteite van wêreldgehalte is” het hy bygevoeg.
